The Territory
The history of Vicenza is linked to the creative genius of Andrea Palladio, one of the most admired architects of the Modern Age. The town, however, has also been known, since ancient times, as one of the most important worldwide manufacturer jewellery centres.
The constitution deed of the “Fraglia degli Orafi” of Vicenza dates back to 1399, which already grouped as many as 150 artisans.
In this thriving province of goldsmiths I developed the team to create exclusive masterpieces by RobertoNovello
Bulinatura
Bulinatura, a hand-engravng technique, is nowadays practised by a few old master goldsmiths.
They work the surface of the gold using a particular type of chisel, the burin, and the result is a silk-like effect that gives light and elegance to our frames.
Packaging
The outer packaging of your eyewear and the guarantee certificate are handcrafted in Bassano del Grappa, a province of Vicenza, by Stamperia Tassotti who revived the paper tradition begun by Antica Stamperia Remondini, established in Bassano from 1657. Indeed, the Phoenix 113 print that surrounds the box is the same used by the Remondini family to upholster the borders of Venice’s Teatro La Fenice in 1792. The paper, inks and glue used on all our cases are environmentally-friendly and no chemical solvents are involved.
The eyewear case is made with fine velvets produced by the ancient Rubelli textile company in Venice, excellence in the sector since 1889.
Thanks to four seventeenth-century looms, Rubelli is still able to weave precious velvets by hand.
An optional cord, complete with brackets and carabiners fashioned from 18k gold, can be combined with the eyewear case allowing you to wear it.
